HISTORY OF QURESHI'S

Origin

The name originally signified ancestry from the tribe of Qureshi They are also famous as Musicians of South Asia.

Quraishis in South Asia

The Quraish tribe diaspora is spread all around the world. Due to Arab invasions and incursions into foreign lands, the Quraish tribe was able to establish itself in these foreign lands. In the Indian-subcontinent, the Quraish tribe first arrived under the command of Muhammad Bin Qasim. Later arrivals of the Quraish tribe came as the Arabs began to conquer the Indian sub-continent. The Quraish tribe strongholds areas were in the area of what is now modern day Pakistan although the descendants of the Quraish tribe are also found in India,Afghanistan , and Bangladesh. The descendants of Arabs who arrived with Muhammad Bin Qasim were settled in South Asia. They were also known as Ar-rai which change to Arain. The word Ar-rai means shepherd in Arabic and that's the Arains were in Syria who came to South Asia with Muhammad Bin Qasim. Nasim Hijazi who belongs to Arain tribe of Pakistan has written a fictional novel about the history of Arain tribe as Muhammad Bin Qasim. Qureshi is not a tribe. It is a title and it used by Banu Hashim's tribe people. But from the beginning of Muslim rule in South Asia in 713 AD, the Muslim technocrats, bureaucrats, soldiers, traders, scientists, architects, teachers, theologians and Sufis traveled from the rest of the Muslim world to the Islamic Sultanate in South Asia and settled permanently. Since the soldiers who arrived with Muhammad Bin Qasim were known as Ar-rai which changed to Arain.

Lineage

According to traditional legends, Arab lineages allegedly originate from three groups:

Perished Arabs (العرب البائدة): These are the ancients of whose history little is known. They include AD, Thamûd, Tasam, Jadis, Imlaq and others.

Pure Arabs (العرب العاربة): They allegedly originated from the progeny of Ya‘rub bin Yashjub bin Qahtan bin Hud so were also called Qahtanian Arabs.

Arabized Arabs (العرب المستعربة): They allegedly originated from the progeny of Islam and were also called ‘Adnanian Arabs. The Quraish are a branch of the "Arabized Arabs".

The Quraish was a branch of the Kinana branch, which descended from the Khuziamah, which descended fromWliasa Bin Mudar, who descended from Adnan. The Quraish remained completely disunited until Qusai bin Kilab managed to rally their ranks on honourable terms attaching major prominence to their status and importance. After the introduction of Islam, the Quraish gained supremacy and produced the three dynasties of the ummatads , Abbasieds and fatimies, which ruled as caliphs
